Old Stone, Salt Air and Very Long Roads

Nowhere else in England punishes an electrical installation quite like the South West. Thick stone walls, damp winters, salt off three coastlines and properties that were wired when wiring was new.

Our electricians live in the counties they work. They know that a Bath basement floods the same way every January, that cob walls cannot simply be chased for a new cable run, and that a Cornish holiday let standing empty for a month will greet you with a seized RCD. Knowing the pattern before arriving is what turns a four-hour search into a twenty-minute diagnosis.

Questions We Get From Across the Region

Answers that apply anywhere in the region. Your own town page carries the local detail.

Call 02034112027
Do you really cover as far as Cornwall? +

Yes. Truro and the far west are served from a Cornish base, not from Bristol. That is the only way a call from Falmouth gets an electrician the same night rather than the next afternoon. Expect an honest arrival window on the phone that accounts for the distance involved.

Is there a travel charge for the longer journeys? +

No. Gloucester to Penzance is the better part of five hours, yet the call-out price is the same across the region. One figure, agreed before we set off, with no mileage added later.

Can you work on Bath stone, cob and listed properties? +

Yes. Georgian Bath terraces, Devon cob cottages and listed buildings across the region all limit where cable can run and how walls can be opened. We plan the route first and tell you plainly if a job needs consent before anything begins.

Do you cover holiday lets and second homes? +

Yes, and a great many of our callouts are exactly that. We can attend when the property is empty, deal with your letting agent or keyholder, and send the certificate and photos through afterwards so you do not need to travel down.

What about damp, salt air and coastal corrosion? +

It is the most common hidden cause we find along the Dorset, Devon and Cornish coast. Corroded terminals behind an outdoor socket, a seized RCD or a green-crusted garden supply will trip a board repeatedly while looking perfectly normal from the outside.

Can you attend farms and rural properties off the main network? +

Yes. Three-phase supplies, outbuildings on long underground runs and generator changeover gear are routine on farms across Somerset, Devon and Wiltshire. These faults rarely sit where the symptom appears, so we test the run rather than guess at the end of it.
